In the meantime, Beijing Capital International Airport is also the busiest civil airport currently in China.
Beijing Capital International Airport has undergone 8 large-scale reconstruction and expansions in three phases since 1965. On January 1st, 1980, Terminal 1 was officially put into operation. On November 1st, 1999, Terminal 2 was put into full operation. Starting on March 28th, 2004, after three years and nine months of hard work, the workers at Beijing Capital International Airport completed the world’s largest terminal - Terminal 3 at a “Chinese speed (characterized by good quality and high efficiency)”. Since then, the hardware resource in Beijing Capital International Airport has been expanded significantly, making Beijing Capital International Airport the first and only airport in Asian-Pacific region whose three terminals, three runways and two control towers can be functioning at the same time. As a result, Beijing Capital International Airport becomes one of the super large airports in the world.
During the construction of Terminal 3, the accurate monitoring of all kinds of electric parameters was achieved by using about 1000 electric energy quality monitors and intelligent electrical parameter measuring instruments manufactured by Jiangsu SFERE Electric Co., Ltd. Moreover, the data record can be uploaded via different kinds of communication methods, which has provided security assurance for efficient operation of Beijing Capital International Airport.
